As reported by Censor.NET, this is announced by the press service of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs referring to the Ministry of Social Policy.
As noted, almost 12,000 orphans and children deprived of parental care stay in the terrorist-held territory or have been taken away to the Russian Federation, their fate remaining vague. 25,000 children live in the proximity of the contact line, risking their lives.
"As a result of Russia's aggression, 68 children have died and 158 more received injuries over the past two years. According to the report by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund published in February 2016, 28 children had died or received injuries in land-mine/tripwire accidents," the statement notes.
The conflict in the east, according to UNICEF, has affected the lives of more than half a million children in Ukraine. As a result, every third child or 200,000 children require at least psychological assistance.
As also stated, threat to the lives of children is accompanied by health hazard: there is a constant shortage of drugs and medical care. The education process is endangered as well - every fifth school in eastern Ukraine is destroyed.
