Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
"The Russian occupation forces committed 10 attacks on the positions of the detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at Luhansk direction over the past 24-hour period. In particular, several assaults were recorded near the checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska. This means that it is impossible for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to implement these measures (disengagement of troops and hardware - Ed.) at Luhansk direction now," the Defense Ministry's statement reads.
The ministry also confirmed successful completion of troops and hardware disengagement in the vicinity of Petrivske on Friday, Oct. 7.
"The Ukrainian troops and hardware were successfully withdrawn from the area adjacent to Petrivske village in the Donetsk region according to the Minsk agreements. The members of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) are currently in the disengagement area. The withdrawal of troops and hardware was held in line with procedure stipulated by the Minsk agreements which implies notifying the OSCE SMM representatives and the adversary. The anti-terrorist operation forces were redeployed to the new pre-equipped positions 1 km to the west. The disengagement process was verified by the OSCE SMM observers and members of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the cease-fire in the Donbas (JCCC)," the Defense Ministry emphasized.
As reported, Sept. 22, the Tripartite Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas signed the framework decision on disengagement of troops and hardware of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the armed groups of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine from the demarcation line at three security areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske within 13 days (by Oct. 6).
As reported, the disengagement of troops and hardware has been successfully completed in the vicinity of Bohdanivka and Petrivske villages in the Donbas Oct. 7.
