As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the agency drafted and served notice of suspicion to a 31-year-old resident of the Vovchansk district. The person is charged with distribution of alcohol illegally produced from poor-quality raw materials, which caused poisoning and deaths.
According to Chief of Regional Prosecutor's Office Department Artur Ohannisian, it was found that the person was an intermediary between manufacturers and distributors of the fake spirits.
It was he who sold the deadly spirits to the owner of a store in the Kharkiv region.
As reported, the organizer of fake booze manufacture was arrested. Besides him, the notice of suspicion was served to his three accomplices and three owners of stores involved in fake alcohol distribution.
The pretrial investigation is underway.
The maximum penalty stipulated by the article covering the mentioned offense is a 10-year imprisonment.
