Speaker for the Defense Ministry on anti-terrorist operation (ATO) matters Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"Based on our information, 64 Ukrainian servicemen are currently illegally held in captivity," he said.
Motuzianyk also brushed off the FSB's allegations that Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko arrested in Russia was allegedly an officer of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate.
"This person has never worked for the Ministry of Defense and intelligence agencies," he said.
Nevertheless, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine supports the initiative for Sushchenko's immediate release from custody.
