Militants' prisoner swap list includes persons not covered by Minsk accords, - Herashchenko

Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Speaker, Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Herashchenko says pro-Russian militants deliberately conceal the whereabouts of some Ukrainian hostages, while demanding that Ukraine exchange persons who have nothing to do with the conflict in the Donbas.

Censor.NET reports referring to Herashchenko's Facebook page.

According to her, the Ukrainian side knows the whereabouts of 57 hostages out of 110 indicated in the list that was officially handed over to militants at a previous meeting.

"We've carefully picked up pieces of information about terrorist-held Ukrainians and, despite the fact separatists conceal this data and speak only of 45 captives, we definitely know about 57," she wrote.

Herashchenko also notes militants have acknowledged that the list for 600 people they want to be released by Ukraine includes many of those who have nothing to do with the conflict in the Donbas and are not covered by the Minsk agreements.

"Therefore, we do our best for the liberation of those 45 confirmed captives. We demand that militants provide correct and real list of those who the Ukrainian side could swap for our prisoners as well as information on other hostages that we are looking for," she remarked.
