"Sanctions should be extended until Russia literally leaves Ukraine," – Foreign Minister Klimkin

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin commented on the statement by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden that the EU might lift sanctions against Russia if Ukraine did not fulfill its commitments on economic and political reforms.

As reported by Censor.NET, Klimkin said in an interview to DW.

"The sanctions should be extended until Russia literally leaves Ukraine. I believe in people and countries making a free choice. And this (sanctions against Russia - Ed.) is your choice while the choice of Ukraine is to make genuine progress. We have to do this to survive and succeed," Klimkin stressed.

Earlier in September, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden warned that Ukraine needed to follow its commitments on economic and political reforms or risk seeing the European Union walk away from its sanctions on Russia.

"You have to understand: everybody's willing to blame the victim, and you better straighten up and fly right," Biden said then, Censor.NET reported citing Reuters.Источник: https://en.censor.net.ua/n409069
