"Pros and cons of Ukrainian troops withdrawal from Stanytsia Luhanska should be weighed," - Luhansk administration

On Oct. 2, pro-Russian militants shelled Ukrainian positions near Krymske of Novoaidar district from 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, and small arms. One soldier was killed in the strike.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Luhansk regional civil military administration, this was announced by deputy governor of the region Yurii Klymenko.

He noted the enemy got more active at Popasna direction yesterday night. In the evening of Oct. 2 the Russian terrorist troops employed 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various calibers, and small arms upon Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka.

Since midnight, the enemy opened fire from small arms against Ukrainian positions near Novooleksandrivka and Popasna three times.

"The enemy is cynical in violating all agreements on the conflict de-escalation. The death of our defender at the time when the first so-called 'safety zone' is being created in the Luhansk region makes diplomatic solution of the situation impossible. Under such circumstances, we need to weigh pros and cons of our troops withdrawal from Stanytsia Luhanska so that we don't let the enemy of the leash and create another strategically important foothold for terrorists," Klymenko said.

As reported, the enemy conducted 48 cases of shelling upon positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past 24-hour period.
