 US may impose additional sanctions against Russia if Syria diplomacy fails

The U.S. government may impose additional sanctions against Russia as one of the valid options if the Syrian diplomatic process fails.

This was said by U.S. Department of State Spokesperson Mark Toner at a press briefing on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing Gazeta.ru.

Asked if Washington would intoduce new sanctions against Russia over the situation in Syria, Toner said that it was another valid option, one among many that U.S. was looking at.

The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State added that the sanctions might be very efficient. However, according to him, the U.S. authorities have not yet made the relevant decision.
