 NSDC supports allocation of additional 6.9 billion hryvnia for Army and law enforcement agencies in 2016

At Wednesday’s meeting, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) upheld the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to amend the “Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2016" in order to increase funding of the Defense Ministry, Security Service of Ukraine, Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service and other security agencies.

In particular, the funding of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is planned to be increased by 3,8 billion hryvnia (over $146 million), the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - by 175 million hryvnia (about $6.7 million), the National Police - by 2,004,800,000 hryvnia (over $77 million), the Security Service of Ukraine - by 128.5 million hryvnia (up to $5 million), the Department of the State Guard of Ukraine - by 51 million hryvnia (up to $2 million), the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies - by 782.7 million hryvnia (over $30 million).
