As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Deputy Chief of the National Police of Ukraine Vadym Troian on his Facebook page.
"You might ask who these Dnipro City police officers were?
"Artem acted as a real policeman during the entire encounter with his killer. When he was gravely wounded twice, he managed to shoot at the criminal. During his last seconds alive, he was dying in his car and attempting to pass information about the crime over the radio. Can you fancy - he did not give away his gun and was thinking of his duties when dying.
"Olia was a light romantic person. Like many of us, she wanted to live in a better country and change it," he said.
Troian posted a video in memory of killed police officers Artem Kutushev and Olha Makarenko.
As reported, a traffic law violator shot a patrol officer dead and wounded his female partner in Dnipro City Sunday morning. According to preliminary information, the patrol crew stopped a Citroen car for violation of traffic rules. The driver began to resist the police officers, made a few shots, and fled the scene. Patrol officer Artem Kutushev died on spot, while his female partner officer Olha Makarenko did not survive a surgery.
Later, the interior minister confirmed detention of a suspect in the murder in a hospital where he addressed for treatment of a gunshot wound caused by Kutushev. The suspect is former Tornado fighter, previously convicted Oleksandr Puhachov. He has been served a notice of suspicion for murder of two police officers in Dnipro City, however, refuses to testify.
Tragic footage from the chest camera of murdered police officer Artem Kutushev was uploaded online later. The Interior Ministry says they will not publish the entire camera record for ethical reasons.
