"Olia acted extremely carefully with the gun as there were people waiting for buses behind the killer's back," - Police Chief Dekanoidze

Patrol police officer Olha Makarenko, who was killed together with her partner officer while on duty in Dnipro City on Sunday, could not use the gun freely for there was a threat to passers-by.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Ukraine's Police Chief Khatia Dekanoidze on her Facebook page.

"To those who speculate on the death of the police officers.

"The guys were securing each other.

"The killer knew how to use the gun.

"Most probably, it was Artem [the other killed officer - ed.] who managed to shoot at his murderer.

"Olia acted extremely carefully with the gun as there were people waiting for buses behind the killer's back.

"Remember Olia and Artem when you set drunk drivers free and imprison police officers. On when joking about the officers who get into car accidents after 12 hours of patrolling.

"Remember and think - you, politicians, MPs, activists - that police officers need uniforms, guns, legislation, and powers.

"If they don't get that, there will be no order. ...

"What kind of Ukraine do we want? A bandit one or a civilized one?" she wrote.
