The Kropyvnytskyi City Court of Appeal acquitted Judge Oleksii Halahan apprehended for drunk driving by the patrol police.

Volunteer Roman Sinitsyn wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Meet Liuda - Judge of the Kropyvnytskyi (formerly Kirovohrad) Court of Appeal Liudmyla Tkachenko. Liuda granted the appeal of her colleague Liosha (Oleksii Halahan - Ed.) an hour ago. Judge Liosha was driving his car under influence a couple of months ago, tried to escape from patrol police. They caught him. The test showed 1.27 percent of alcohol in his blood. I wrote about it. Many people wrote and filmed stories about it.

"The trial judge was deliberately dragging out the consideration of the case initiated under article 130. The public and patrol policemen were attending hearings and succeeded after all. Liosha was found guilty of operating a car while intoxicated. The court of appeal reversed that judgment today. Liuda managed to draft the decision on 10 pages in just 20 minutes. It was definitely prepared in advance. Liosha was fully acquitted. He was allegedly sober and provided no resistance. The Leninskyi district court of Kropyvnytskyi will be simultaneously hearing the criminal case into abuse of power by the patrol police. Consequently, the police officers could be convicted as if they had apprehended the innocent and respected judge," Sinitsyn wrote.
