 High Council of Justice Member Hrechkovskyi, charged with bribe extortion, bailed out

The Pechersk district court of Kyiv released High Council of Justice Member Pavlo Hrechkovskyi suspected of bribe extortion on bail in the amount of 3,850,000 hryvnia (about $150,000).

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainski Novyny, this was stated by Judge Svitlana Shaputko.

The Court defeated the motion filed by the Prosecutor General's Office to impose pretrial custody against the suspect.

The decision on pretrial restriction for Member of the High Council of Justice Hrechkovskyi suspected of fraud was taken at a closed session of the court on Thursday, Sept. 22.

As reported, the members of the PGO's Major Fraud Investigation Department in conjunction with the officers of the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime apprehended one of the members of the High Council of Justice of Ukraine extorting $500,000 in bribe Sept. 21, 2016.
