 Volume of shelling by pro-Russian troops in Donbas decreased: 14 cases of cease-fire violations recorded yesterday, - Staff

Ukrainian army continues abiding by the Minsk agreements on the cease-fire in the Donbas.

Censor.NET reports citing the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff's press center's report as at 6 a.m. Sept. 22, 2016.

"Over the past 24-hour period, Russian occupation troops opened fire upon positions of the Ukrainian defenders 14 times," the Staff noted.

"At Donetsk direction, five cases of shelling were recorded. Occupants opened fire from grenade launchers, machine guns, and small arms in the vicinity of Avdiivka. Zaitseve came under 120 mm mortar fire. At Mariupol direction, eight cases of cease-fire violations were reported. Militants conducted harassing fire from grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms near Marinka, Starohnativka, and Novotroitske," the ATO Staff added.

"At Luhansk direction, one case of shelling was seen: the enemy attempted an armed provocation near Novooleksandrivka, where it opened fire from small arms," the message reads.

No drone flights were recorded in the ATO area over the past day.

"Despite provocations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine unswervingly abide by the Minsk agreements," the ATO Staff summed up.
