10 days left for PGO to arrest Constitutional Court judges who conferred dictatorial powers on Yanukovych, – MP Soboliev. DOCUMENT (in Ukrainian)

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has 10 days to arrest the judges of the Constitutional Court who granted dictatorial powers to ex-President Viktor Yanukovych.

Samopomich faction MP Yehor Soboliev wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The PGO initiated criminal proceedings into unjust decisions made by them (judges) right after the Euromaidan. However, neither Oleh Makhnytskyi, nor Yarema, nor Shokin brought this important investigation even to the stage of reporting suspicion," he wrote.

"Yet, there is nothing to investigate. There was a decision that returned the powers of Kuchma to Yanukovych. It was signed by certain judges. The judges gave testimonies back in 2014. They can be easily found on Zhylianska Street where they continue serving as the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for the third year in a row after the Euromaidan. And they continue stonewalling laws on screening officials and transparency of assets owned by officials at the request of former allies of Yanukovych," the politician added.

According to the lawmaker, it will be impossible to arrest the judges after 10 days.

"The new version of the Constitution drafted by Petro Poroshenko comes into force Sept. 30. And it will be impossible to detain or arrest a judge of the Constitutional Court without consent of this very court. The decent European idea of the court independence will be again turned into mutual responsibility," the MP wrote.

Soboliev also stressed that Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko still had the legal possibility to break this mutual responsibility.

"I have submitted a separate motion to him with this regard," the people's deputy summed up.
