Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The official of the High Council of Justice extorted money in exchange for facilitation of the ruling made in favor of a business entity by the court of the first instance as well as its upholding by the appeal and cassation courts.
As reported, the intermediary, a bankruptcy commissioner for the Justice Ministry who received the first part of the bribe in the amount of $150,000 acting in collusion with a member of the High Council of Justice, was arrested on Wednesday Sept. 21.
"The measures of inquiry are now taken to establish the circumstances of the criminal offense, bring all the guilty to criminal liability. We are also drafting a motion to impose pre-trial restriction on suspects," the spokesperson for the agency informed.
"Another big fish," Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook adding that the member of the High Council of Justice suspected of involvement in this case had been summoned to the PGO.
