 Cabinet amends calculations of utility-related subsidies

Ukraine’s government has amended the order of calculating subsidies that cover utility payments for citizens.

The governmental decree No.635 dated Sept. 8 reads, Censor.NET reports citing Novoe Vremia.

The Cabinet orders to stop allocating subsidies if the number of people registered at a given apartment increases. Also, for conscript soldiers, their monthly income is set at half amount of minimum wage regardless of income received for the purposes of subsidy calculation.

For retirees applying for subsidies who only receive pension payments as income, their average monthly income shall account the amount of their pension payment for the previous month for the purposes of subsidy calculation.

For persons aged 18 and more as of Jan. 1 of the year of calculations, if the person received less than a living wage or no income but was a full-time student, their average monthly income for the purposes of subsidy calculation is set at the level of minimum wage.

The Cabinet also rules that if a citizen has no income reported, the average monthly income of this person for the purposes of subsidy calculation should be set as two minimum wages.
