Militants opened fire 22 times upon Ukrainian positions yesterday, skirmish occurred near Novozvanivka, - Staff

Over the past 24-hour period, Russian occupation troops opened fire upon positions of Ukrainian defenders 22 times. Despite provocations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine unswervingly abide by the Minsk accords.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center in a report as at 6 a.m. Sept. 20, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, 10 cases of cease-fire violations were recorded at Donetsk direction.

"Occupants were firing from grenade launchers, machine guns, and small arms near Avdiivka, Luhanske, Maiorsk, Novoselivka and Verkhniotoretske. In addition, invaders opened fire from 82 mm mortar upon Avdiivka," the report reads.

At Mariupol direction, eight cases of cease-fire violations have been recorded. The enemy used grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms to fire near Shyrokyne, Marinka, Vodiane, Starohnativka, Bohdanivka and Pavlopil.

At Luhansk direction, four cases of cease-fire violations were recorded.

"The enemy committed armed provocations near Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka, where militants opened fire from small arms and rifle-attached grenade launchers. In addition, a skirmish with a sabotage and recon group of the Russian occupation troops took place near Novozvanivka, at Kalynove," the report reads.

The Staff also noted that a drone's flight was recorded in the ATO area over the past day.

"Given the measures conducted in military units of the occupation troops, we can assume that the enemy puts its efforts into strengthening of its assault units and improvement of defense and entrenchment of its positions," the ATO press center added.

As reported earlier, on Sept. 18 Russian occupation troops opened fire upon Ukrainian defenders' positions 18 times.
