Kyiv police chief Andrii Kryshchenko told 112 TV Channel, Censor.NET reports.
A protester who beat a man who came to vote in the elections to the Russian State Duma at the Russian embassy in Kyiv has been apprehended by the police.
"The man has been detained. If the aggrieved person applies, we will initiate an investigation," he said.
According to him, the law enforcement agencies have stepped up security of the embassy building.
"We have stepped up the security. Additional police forces were sent to the embassy. Servicemen of the National Guard are involved. We will resist provocations and arrest the provocateurs," he stressed.
Earlier, clashes with the police have been reported at the embassy building. The protesters tried to block the entrance to the embassy and prevent the voters from entering. They also tried to destroy the embassy fence.
