As reported by Censor.NET citing UNIAN, the released Zhemchuhov and Suprun arrived in the Preventive and clinical medicine center to be met by the president.
Poroshenko delivered a welcome speech, calling them real heroes.
"Volodia Zhemchuhov is a real hero, a man who was pressured upon by 'Ukraine has forgotten you, no one is fighting for you...'. I want the whole world to hear: we never leave our people behind," Poroshenko stressed.
He also noted that despite threats and intimidation by pro-Russian troops, neither Volodymyr, nor Yurii broke down.
The president reported that the release of the two was partly made possible by his personal talks with Russian President Putin.
