"Unfortunately, it's not a true cease-fire, when we lose our soldiers, when they are killed and injured. The recipe for success is simple: stop the attacks, withdraw troops, Russian weapons... We need to take back control over the border and stop making the local residents suffer," the minister said.
"We will provide the opportunity for the OSCE to ensure fair and free elections there. Everyone understands that this is the way forward. But it is not implemented, that's exactly why Russia desperately needs the Donbas. The only thing Russia needs is a further destabilization of Ukraine. This country does not need a democratic Ukraine. This is why the solidarity with the EU and the international community is so important for us. This is why we need the sanctions as a means of pressure. This is not our strategy but a means of making Russia implement the Minsk agreements," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
