 PM Hroisman presents draft budget-2017, expects 3 percent shortfall

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman presented draft state budget for 2017 to the Cabinet of Ministers tonight.

According to the draft, the state budget revenue is projected at 876.9 billion hryvnia (about $34 billion) in 2017, which is 17 percent more than in 2016 (749 billion hryvnia).

The largest share of revenue is expected to be produced by the value added tax - 281.7 billion hryvnia, the personal income tax - 150.6 billion hryvnia, and the excise tax - 108.1 billion hryvnia.

At the same time, the state budget-2017 deficit is expected to reach 3 percent of GDP - 77.5 billion hryvnia.

"We are doing everything in due time as we have promised," the prime minister emphasized

Hroisman also said that "no pressure will be put on entrepreneurs."

According to him, the new budget envisages social standards increase as well.

The prime minister stressed that the funding of defense and security sector, construction of roads, and support for teachers were among the budget priorities.
