Ukraine's representative to the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Herashchenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
According to her, Jean-Marc Ayrault, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and they Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin have visited Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and the OSCE SMM office. The ministers were shown the reconstruction of the bridge in Sloviansk demolished by the militants and Psychological Support Center for displaced persons which was established with the support of the German government.
"Of course, it would be better that the ministers saw the pictures of not only recovered and reconstructed Donbas, but also the ones close to the front line - somewhere in Shyrokyne and Avdiivka. Since it is interesting to hear their opinion on how to hold elections in Shyrokyne and whether they are ready to send the citizens of Germany and France there as observers," Herashchenko added.
"The position of the European partners regarding the situation in the Donbas must be balanced. Unfortunately, there are no preconditions to consider the political issues of the Minsk agreements so far. Because the attacks are still committed, because Moscow starts saying that it has not promised truce, because people are still held hostage, because the border is still inaccessible [for the OSCE SMM]. It is definitely impossible to hold elections in such conditions," the lawmaker summed up.
