 Court arrests leaders of three tax inspectorates, sets bail at 10M to 100M hryvnia, - deputy prosecutor general

Top officials of three tax inspectorates of Kyiv - Solomianska, Shevchenkivska and Pecherska - are suspected of massive embezzlement of public funds. Most of them have been arrested.

Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine-Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Glavred.

"Leaders of three tax administrations of Kyiv have been detained. There are a lot of women - deputies, first deputies and heads of Kyiv tax inspectorates - Solomianska, Shevchenkivska and Pecherska," he said.

"They have been arrested with sums of bail ranging from 10 million to 100 million hryvnia (approx. $377,180 - $3,770,000 ). They have also been offered a plea deal," Matios said.

He noted the collection of additional evidence and interrogations, the so-called confrontations, of many people are underway.

According to him, these actions are intended to punish those who "by their actions furthered, assisted and participated in Yanukovych's unjust enrichment and plundering of the country."
