The sides are going to discuss the prospects of restoration of the Normandy format and the fulfillment of agreements reached upon the Sept. 9 trilateral phone conversation. They will also coordinate exerting pressure on Russia so that it implements the security component of the Minsk agreements.
Special attention will be paid to the progress in the liberation of Ukrainian hostages in the Donbas and Ukrainian political prisoners illegally held in Russia.
The president of Ukraine will also hear the report of Germany's foreign minister, being the OSCE CiO at present, on the ways of strengthening the role of the organization in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
On the same day, Poroshenko will also meet with Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of Great Britain Boris Johnson. The agenda of the talks includes the UK-Ukraine interaction in countering the aggression of Russia in the Donbas, and Ukraine's European integration policy in the light of UK's further relations with the EU.
The head of state will also have a conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski. They are going to discuss the ways to enhance the Ukraine-Poland strategic partnership, Warsaw's further support for the course of reforms in Ukraine, and preparations to Poroshenko's official visit to Poland in December 2016.
