As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman on his Facebook page.
"Here are examples of calculations of payments for utilities that I showed today at an all-Ukrainian conference call. ... Many families will pay not more, but less than last year!" the prime minister stressed.
For instance, calculations for a family of three residing in a one-bedroom apartment with income of 7,000 UAH ($270) show they will have to pay 876 UAH (with 1,644 UAH covered in subsidies) in 2016, compared to 921 UAH (with 590 UAH covered in subsidies) on 2015.
It was reported earlier that 5.3 million households are eligible for subsidies by the state to cover their utility payments, as of Sept. 2, 2016.
The Finance Ministry of Ukraine has allocated 40 billion hryvnia in the draft budget 2017 for subsidies. According to Vice PM Pavlo Rozenko, the amount might be increased up to 52 billion hryvnia.
