"On the Paralympic's fifth day, Sept. 12, the Ukrainian team won 12 medals - four gold, six silver and two bronze," the statement reads.
Runner Ihor Tsvetov, fencers Anton Datsko and Andrii Demchuk, swimmer Denys Dubrov took gold.
Runner Oksana Boturchuk, swimmers Olha Sviderska, Yevhen Bohodaiko, Maksym Krypak, Hanna Stetsenko and Yaroslav Denysenko won silver.
Long jumper Roman Pavlyk and swimmer Mariia Piddubna claimed bronze.
After five days into the Paralympics, Ukraine boasts 61 awards (22 gold) and ranks third in the medal standings. The leader is China (118 medals/50 gold) followed by the UK team (63 medals/28 gold).
The Ukrainian team also holds the third place in the medal standings by the total number of awards.
