Former head of the State Investments Agency Vladyslav Kaskiv owns real property in Panama with the cost of one property exceeding 500,000 euros. Deputy Prosecutor General Yevhen Yenin told Ukrainska Pravda, Censor.NET reports.
He said that due to the 8-hour time difference with Panama, it is premature to talk about bail.
"They have to inform us should the bail be posted and we'll report about it," he added.
As for the Kaskiv's property in Panama, Yenin said that law enforcers are aware of a few expensive facilities worth more than the amount of bail.
"According to our information, this is not the only property owned by Kaskiv in Panama," Yenin noted.
He refused to name the total amount of Kaskiv's assets in Panama.
Earlier, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko announced that ex-head of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv was apprehended in Panama Aug. 18.
As previously reported, in 2012 Kaskiv signed a $1 billion contract with Spain's company Gas Natural on investment in a liquefied gas (LNG) terminal on Ukraine's Black Sea Coast. Later, the Spanish side stated it did not know the person who had signed the contract on its behalf. The man's name was Jordi Sarda Bonvehi, a ski instructor from Barcelona region.
