First Deputy Chairman of the State Fiscal Service Serhii Bilan wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Today, we have blocked a major supply chain used to smuggle food, petrol and lubricants, medicines and other goods to the terrorist-controlled territory. The so-called "Ministry of Defense of the DPR" was among the key customers. It means the goods were flowing directly to militants," Bilan noted.
According to him, law enforcers have searched transshipment points and detained vehicles with goods.
Bilan said the operation was fraught with serious risk as it was conducted in the area of activity of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and snipers in close proximity to an enemy checkpoint.
As noted, over 100 people took part in the raid.
The details of the operation will be announced by direct participants at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 8.
