 Russian militants attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions 21 times yesterday, used 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, machine guns, grenade launchers, - Staff

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone is under control as the cease-fire is generally observed except for rare armed provocations by Russian occupation forces.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. Sept. 7.

According to the Staff, the Russian occupation forces fired at the positions of Ukrainian soldiers 21 times over the past 24-hour period: 15 attacks were recorded at Mariupol, three - at Donetsk, and three more - at Luhansk direction.

"The situation at the section of the front between Shyrokyne and Talakivka at Mariupol direction was tense as the occupants committed strikes with 120 mm and 82 mm mortars there. It is also worth noting that the enemy employed sniper groups and small arms in the vicinity of Marinka to exert moral coercion on the ATO forces' detachments.

"The Russian occupation forces committed provocative attacks near Avdiivka at Donetsk direction using machine guns, small arms, and grenade launchers.

"The militants fired at Popasna and Novozvanivka at Luhansk direction with small arms," the statement reads.

It was also reported that an enemy drone was spotted carrying out air reconnaissance of the Ukrainian troops' positions on the outskirts of Novoazovsk.

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine consistently follow the Minsk agreements despite militants' attempts to invite retaliation," the ATO Staff press center added.

Earlier, the Russian terrorists also committed 21 attacks on the Ukrainian soldier's positions Sept. 5.
