Militants use cease-fire for mining, - Defense Intelligence

Russian occupants and terrorists in the Donbas actively undermine the controlled territories.

This is stated in a report of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.

The established cease-fire is widely used by Russian occupation forces for covert mining (particularly, with antipersonnel mines, prohibited by international conventions) of new sites on the routes used by local civilians to cross the demarcation line to bypass the entry and exit checkpoints. This creates additional risks of loss of civilians and livestock, requiring additional efforts of Ukraine and the international community for mine clearance after the area is liberated.

Covert mining is carried out in the zones of responsibility of the "7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade" (Debaltseve) of the "2nd Army Corps" (Luhansk) of the Armed Forces of Russia, as well as "9th Individual Assault Marines Motorized Rifle Regiment" (Novoazovsk ) and "11th Separate Motorized Rifle Regiment" (Makiivka) of Russia's "1st Army Corps" starting from Sept. 2.
