The issue of affiliation of occupied Crimea has been closed. There is no return to the previous system, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary meeting of the Eastern economic forum, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax Ukraina.
"The people of Crimea made their decision and voted. Historically, the issue has been closed. There is no return to the previous system," Putin said.
However, Putin states that he still intends to seek implementation of the Minsk agreements.
"We believe it is necessary to fulfill the Minsk agreements in its entirety, without restriction, restrictions and substitution of concepts. And we will sincerely strive towards this," he said.
However, according to the Russian president, Russia is not able to solve the problem alone.
"Normandy format countries and the United States should do it with us, because only they have real impact on the current authorities in Kyiv," Putin said.
