 Poroshenko thanked US partners for stiffening sanctions against Russia

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko thanked the U.S. partners for the intensification of sanctions against Russia.

Censor.NET reports citing the president's press service.

The statement reads: "Another 37 individuals and entities involved in the Russian aggression against Ukraine and occupation of Crimea became subjects to the sanctions. I am sincerely grateful to the American partners for this important step of solidarity with Ukraine.

"As the aggressor state, Russia must pay the price for the flagrant violation of the international law - the occupation of foreign territory, unleashing hybrid war in the heart of Europe, and murder of thousands of innocent people.

"I hope that our partners, especially the European Union, will support this reasoning while the sectoral sanctions against Russia will be extended and even stiffened in case of escalation," Petro Poroshenko stressed.
