 75 cease-fire violations reported yesterday, enemy used 152 mm and 122 mm artillery, IFVs, - Staff

The situation in the anti-terrorists operation (ATO) area keeps escalating as Russian hybrid forces committed 75 attacks on Ukrainian troops over the past day.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was stated in the latest update by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. Aug. 31.

According to the Staff, 75 attacks were recorded over the past 24-hour period, including 24 near Donetsk, 26 in the Luhansk region and 25 in the vicinity of Mariupol.

"In the area of Donetsk, the enemy used artillery against Novhorodske twice in the early hours. Positions in Verkhniotoretske and Pisky came under 120 mm mortar attack. 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns were fired on Avdiivka. Attacks on Luhanske, Zaitseve, Pisky and Svitlodarsk involved 82 mm mortars while Maiorsk was hit with grenade launchers and small arms. IFVs were used in Luhanske and Zaitseve," the report reads.

The enemy is also reported to have used heavy artillery in the vicinity of Mariupol: "In the early hours, militants fired some four dozen 122 mm rounds on positions in Krasnohorivka. About the same number of 152 mm projectiles and 80 IFV shots hit Shyrokyne in the evening and at night. Vodiane, Hnutove and Lebedynske came under 120 mm mortar attack. 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were used against Shyrokyne while Krasnohorivka, Talakivka and Taramchuk also came under mortar fire. The enemy used an IFV, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms in Marinka. Sniper activity was recorded in Marinka and Hnutove.

"In the Luhansk region, militants used heavy artillery in Novozvanivka and Novooleksandrivka, having fired almost four dozen 152 mm rounds. Over 25 122 mm artillery shells hit positions in Popasna. Novooleksandrivka and Stanytsia Luhanska came under mortar, grenade launcher and small arms attack. 120 mm mortars were employed in the vicinity of Shchastia and Zhovte, grenade launchers and machine guns in Novozvanivka, Krymske and Zolote. An enemy sniper was active in Zhovte," the Staff notes.

As previously reported by ATO spokesperson Andrii Lysenko, some 100,000 Russian military are concentrated on the administrative border with Russian-annexed Crimea and along the Russia-Ukraine state border.
