 100,000-strong Russian army deployed on Ukraine's border, - Lysenko

Some 100,000 Russian military are concentrated on the administrative border with Russian-annexed Crimea and along the Russia-Ukraine state border.

ATO spokesperson Andrii Lysenko said Tuesday, Aug. 30, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Svoboda.

"Some 40,000 [Russian military - ed.] are deployed in the Donbas, 50,000-60,000 - along the northern border, the eastern one. The group is being constantly upgraded and reinforced. Three military districts are involved. Airborne units are being deployed both along the border and in the territory of Crimea," Lysenko said.

He added that Russia keeps transferring military equipment. In particular, 700 tanks are currently deployed in the occupied Donbas.

Lysenko noted that the escalation of the conflict "will have bloody consequences for both Russia and our side."

According to him, this is why Russia is weighing its capabilities and employing reconnaissance.
