This was announced by newly appointed head of the National Investment Council Borys Lozhkin at the meeting of the National Reform Council on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"I would like Ukraine to become Mecca for foreign investments. We have discussed possible participation in the Council with some large investors. The following have given prior consent: George Soros, Paul Polman, and leaders of SOCAR - one of the largest state companies of Azerbaijan. We are holding talks with many renowned foreign investors who will be involved in the National Reform Council, I hope," Lozhkin said.
He stressed the importance of the Investment Council's active work, creation of a normal business climate in Ukraine, and attraction of large foreign investments.
"I feel inspired to do a lot of investment work and to make Ukraine Mecca for foreign investments," Lozhkin noted.
He is certain that current rotation in the president's team will yield positive results.
As reported earlier today, President Petro Poroshenko announced Lozhkin would leave the post of the Presidential Administration Chief and will start working in the National Investment Council.
