A mobile exhibition ‘Checkpoint of Memory’ dedicated to the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) soldiers killed near Ilovaisk and Savur-Mohyla in Aug. 2014, opened today at Mykhailivska Square and on the territory of St. Michael's Monastery in Kyiv.

Censor.NET reports citing the exhibition's Facebook page.

The exhibition showcases artifacts collected during search expedition "Evacuation-200" and belongings contributed by families of the victims.

A symbolic "road of death" was made of artillery shells and sunflowers. Down this road Ukrainian soldiers disentangled. Anyone can light the oil lamp and put it along this road, turning it into a memory road of honor and mourning for the killed defenders of Ukraine.

The exhibition will be open until 10 p.m., Aug.29.

According to official statistics, 366 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 429 were wounded, 158 missed in action and 128 were captured while disentangling via 'green corridor' from Ilovaisk.
