 Shyrokyne mortar-shelled by pro-Russian militants since morning, booming heard 30 km away in Mariupol, - sector spokesperson

On Aug. 26 between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m., the front line village of Shyrokyne, the Donetsk region, was affected by mortar shelling. The booming of the shelling was heard across the entire city of Mariupol, 30 km away.

This was announced by "Mariupol" sector press officer Ivan Chmil, Censor.NET reports citing 0629.

Pro-Russian militants fired 160 mortar shells of 120-mm caliber, 15 mortar shells of 80-mm caliber, and also used DShK machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and self-propelled grenades against Ukrainian marines.

No information of casualties was available as of noon Aug. 26.

Last night, militants opened fire upon Krasnohorivka three times, used 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. Taramchuk was shelled with 120-mm mortars.

The total of 21 cases of shelling was recorded over the past 24-hour period (six times in Marinka, four times in Shyrokyne, and three times in Vodiane and Pavlopil each).

Pro-Russian militants used Minsk-banned weapons four times - in Pavlopil, Hnutove, Novomykhailivka, and Marinka.
