As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Antonov SE, the test was conducted in August 2016.
As noted, three military HMMWVs (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) were used in the tests. The tests confirmed the aircraft's capabilities in terms of loading/unloading, arrangement, and lashing of the vehicles inside its cargo hold.
"An-178 certification tests are one of our company's top priorities today. We are testing the plane in compliance with the requirements of CS-25 (European Aviation Safety Agency's certification specification for large airplanes - Ed.). We obtained a purchase order for 10 such aircraft from the Azerbaijani airline. Antonov plant is currently launching production of An-178," Antonov State Enterprise President Oleksandr Kotsiuba said.
An-178 has executed about 100 flights with a total flight time of over 160 hours to date.
The plane is being currently prepared to continue the flight test. A test for loading/unloading palletized and containerized cargo is also planned to be held.
