Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center as of 6 a.m. Aug. 26, 2016.
"The Russian occupation troops opened fire on the ATO forces' detachments 48 times over the past 24-hour period. In particular, 18 attacks were recorded at Donetsk, 21 - at Mariupol, and nine - at Luhansk section of the front.
"In violation of the Minsk agreements, the enemy fired about 170 shells with heavy artillery at Donetsk direction: the positions in the vicinity of Avdiivka were shelled with 152-mm and 122-mm self-propelled guns thrice at the beginning and at the end of the day. 152-mm artillery was employed against Arkhanhelske.
"Furthermore, the attacks with mortars, grenade launchers and machine guns kept being recorded at the section of the demarcation line between Avdiivka and northern suburbs of Horlivka. An unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted flying over our positions near Avdiivka's industrial area. The occupants employed infantry fighting vehicles near Luhanske and Kirove," the Staff reported.
"The situation in Marinka, Shyrokyne, and Vodiane at Mariupol direction was tense as usual. The enemy committed attacks with grenade launchers, high-caliber machine guns, and small arms there. Marinka and Hnutove were shelled with 82-mm mortars. The enemy opened fire at the fortifications in Pavlopil and Novomykhailivka with 120-mm mortars banned by the Minsk agreements. The invaders' armored vehicles were spotted in the vicinity of Marinka at this section of the front," the ATO Staff press center added.
"In the Luhansk region, the occupants observed truce only during daylight hours. The enemy opened fire with automatic grenade launchers in Novooleksandrivka, used high-caliber machine guns in Troitske. The armed provocations on the outskirts of Novozvanivka and Zolote were committed with small arms. The enemy fired at the positions in Stanytsia Luhanska with mortars, grenade launchers and twice with IFV guns," the statement reads.
