ATO veteran Maksym Muzyka, who took part in the battle for Savur-Mohyla, wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Of course, yesterday's presentation of general's epaulettes to our commander in the battle for Savur-Mohyla Ihor V. Hordiichuk was a very touching moment of the parade. Both I and all my comrades rejoiced at that.
"But I just want to quietly add something. All the volunteers from the so-called Hordiichuk's group, who took control of Savur-Mohyla, still remain unrecognized. Everything that we have achieved during two years is getting the military status by the families of fallen fighters through courts. Thank God for small favors! After all, the guys fought and are fighting not for status and recognition.
"Although the Hordiichuk's group award list, signed by the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, was submitted to the Presidential Administration in July last year," he wrote.
As previously reported, Hero of Ukraine, Col. Ihor Hordiichuk, who led the battle for Savur-Mohyla and got seriously wounded, was promoted to the rank of major general during a military parade on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day on Aug. 24.
Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov noted Hordiichuk is the only Hero of Ukraine, who was conferred a rank while staying in coma.
At the moment, Maj. Gen. Hordiichuk leads Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum in Kyiv.
