 National Police head: “Kryve Ozero police precinct to be disbanded. No one’s going to cover up perpetrators”

The National Police authorities intend to disband the police precinct in the town of Kryve Ozero in the Mykolaiv region.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to the National Police Communications Department, this was announced by Ukraine's National Police Head Khatia Dekanoidze before departure to the Mykolayiv region. She promised that the official investigation filed into police officers' actions would be carried out under her personal supervision.

The National Police authorities took provisional decision to disband Kryve Ozero police precinct subordinate to the Vradiivka police department of the National Police Main Directorate in the Mykolaiv region.

"We are now waiting for the result of the official investigation. I have decided to disband the police precinct in Kryve Ozero. The common ground of the National Police, Prosecutor General's Office and Interior Ministry is that the perpetrators must be held accountable. No one is going to cover up those guilty," National Police Head Khatia Dekanoidze said

As reported, resident of Kryve Ozero village in the Mykolaiv region Oleksandr Tsukerman was murdered by police officers during his detention Aug. 24. On Aug. 25, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko announced the law enforcers apprehended three police officers on suspicion of beating to death the person they had previously detained. The court hearing on their pretrial detention was scheduled for Aug. 25. Forensic examination showed that Tsukerman died from gunshot wounds inflicted at point blank range.
