Censor.NET informs referring to the situation report by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center as at 6 a.m. Aug. 25, 2016.
The statement reads: "The Russian occupation troops fired at the ATO forces' positions 85 times over the past 24 hours. 38 attacks were recorded at Donetsk, 22 at Mariupol, and 25 - at Luhansk section of the front. The enemy shelled Troitske and Luhanske at Donetsk direction with heavy artillery of 122-mm caliber before dawn.
"At this direction, the invaders committed attacks with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms along the entire demarcation line stretching through Nevelske, Avdiivka's industrial zone, and Svitlodarsk salient. The enemy employed tanks against Avdiivka and infantry fighting vehicles against Luhanske. About 60 projectiles of 152-mm caliber hit Semyhiria around midnight.
"The enemy fired over a hundred shells at Shyrokyne village at Mariupol direction with 122-mm self-propelled guns. The occupants shelled positions in Novohryhorivka, Shyrokyne, and Starohnativka with 120-mm mortars, employed 82-mm mortars against positions in Marinka and Krasnohorivka. Ukrainian troops in Vodiane, Shyrokyne, and Pavlopil were fired at with grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. The invaders used APC on the outskirts of Marinka. The enemy snipers' assaults were recorded in the vicinity of Marinka and Novotroitske.
"The invaders shelled positions in Kalynovo-Popasna, Novozvanivka, Zholobok, and Novotoshkivske in the Luhansk region with 152-mm artillery. Krymske village came under strikes with 122-mm guns. Krymske, Popasna, and Stanytsia Luhanska were also fired at with mortars, grenade launchers and high-caliber machine guns while Novooleksandrivka and Zolote with grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. The occupiers also used tanks near Krymske and infantry fighting vehicles near Stanytsia Luhanska. The enemy snipers committed attacks in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka," the Staff reported.
