 136 indictments on charges of crimes against Maidan filed with courts, - Lutsenko

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has issued 136 indictments against 190 people charged with the crackdown on Maidan in winter 2013-2014.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said in his speech on the occasion of Ukraine's independence anniversary, Censor.NET reports citing the PGO press service.

"The prosecutor general emphasized it is important for the society to see the inevitability of punishment against all members of the criminal organization led by Yanukovych for opposing the peaceful will of citizens. He noted that the law enforcement agencies are doing their utmost in this regard," the statement reads.

According to Lutsenko, more than 100 indictments against those directly involved in the forcible disperse of Maidan protesters (136 indictments against 190 persons) are already pending in courts.

"We expect legal verdicts in respect of these proceedings by representatives of Ukraine's judiciary," Lutsenko concluded.
