"This is the world's largest carpet of flowers," - giant floral Ukrainian flag created in Pyrohiv near Kyiv. VIDEO

A huge flowerbed of blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, has been created in Pyrohiv, a neighborhood on the southern outskirts of Kyiv, home to an outdoor Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. The work of Ukrainian florists may get listed in Guinness World Records.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Sobytiya.TV, the enormous Ukrainian flag was composed of marigolds and petunias. Each square meter contains 50 plants. The total area of the giant flag made of flowers is about 15,000 square meters. The creators of the flag invited representatives of Guinness Book of Records to register it as the national record at least.

The experts must assess whether the floral flag is the world record-braking. The current world record belongs to Saudi Arabia. However, the national flag of this country made of live flowers was 5,000 square meters smaller.
