According to the Staff, 46 attacks were recorded over the past 24-hour period including 21 assaults at Donetsk, 15 - at Mariupol, and 10 - at Luhansk direction.
"The enemy shelled our positions in Avdiivka at Donetsk direction with 152-mm and 122-mm artillery. The invaders fired at the fortifications in Novoselivka Druha and Luhanske with mortars of various calibers, grenade launchers, and high-caliber machine guns. Verkhniotoretske and Svitlodarsk were shelled with 82-mm mortars. The enemy employed infantry fighting vehicles near Maiorsk and Luhanske. Sniper attacks were recorded in Verkhniotoretske," the statement reads.
The enemy shelled Ukrainian soldiers in Novotroitske at Mariupol direction with 122-mm artillery and 120-mm mortars banned by the Minsk agreements.
"The Russian occupants employed mortars and armored vehicles against our positions in Krasnohorivka. The enemy attacked the defenders of Shyrokyne with mortars of 120-mm and 82-mm caliber, automatic grenade launchers, machine guns, and IFV mounted weapons. Machine guns were employed against Ukrainian troops on the outskirts of Hranitne. The enemy used grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and sniper weapons in Marinka," the Staff informed.
As reported, the invaders fired at the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions in the vicinity of Troitske and Novooleksandrivka at Luhansk section of the front with 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, and high-caliber machine guns. Popasna was shelled with grenade launchers while Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka were fired at with small arms. The enemy indiscriminately shelled positions on the outskirts of Toshkivka village with 122-mm caliber artillery system about midnight.
Besides, the Staff reported about two cases of enemy aerial reconnaissance over the past day.
Earlier, the Russian occupation forces committed 71 attacks on the ATO forces' positions Aug. 20.
