 Militants attacked Ukrainian troops 71 times yesterday, - ATO press service

Pro-Russian militants in the east of Ukraine intensified their attacks and used prohibited weapons.

The occupants opened fire at Ukrainian positions for 71 times over the past 24 hours, Censor.NET informs citing the ATO press center.

The terrorists violated the cease-fire 26 times in the Donetsk sector. The situation was tense between Avdiivka and the northern suburbs of Horlivka, where the militants fired from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms, while a series of heavy artillery attacks at Avdiivka was reported after dark. Two dozen 152-mm caliber shells and more than four dozen 122-mm were released towards the positions of Ukrainian troops. Another dozen of 122-mm shells were fired at strongholds to the north of Krasnohorivka. In Avdiivka, the occupants fired from IFV weapons, while Kirove and Svitlodarsk came under 82-mm mortar fire.

Over 38 cases of shelling were reported in the Mariupol sector. Novohryhorivka, Starohnativka, Talakivka, Shyrokyne, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Novotroitske came under mortar and grenade launchers fire. Strongholds in Novohryhorivka, Marinka, and Shyrokyne were fired from large-caliber machine guns. A sniper was spotted in Shyrokyne.

The separatists used armored vehicles in Talakivka, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka.

In the Luhansk sector, Novozvanivka and Krymske came under mortar and rocket-propelled grenades fire, while Novooleksandrivka and Zolote were fired from small arms. A sniper was spotted in Novooleksandrivka.
