 'Tornado' case hearing underway in Kyiv's Obolon court, riot policy on duty outside building

No National Guard fighters are present near the court this time.

A hearing in the case of disbanded Tornado company fighters is underway at the Obolon district court of Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

One of the victims will be testifying today. Tornado fighters have been delivered on time. Several police buses are parked nearby, officers and Spetsnaz being on alert. No national guards can be seen.

As previously reported, due to the poor condition of one of the suspects, Hulchuk, the judge decided to postpone the hearing until Aug. 19.

As reported, Tornado Special Forces Company was earlier a part of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. Eight Tornado soldiers, including its commander Ruslan Onyshchenko, were detained on charges of local residents' abduction, holding them in captivity, torture, murder, and a number of other serious crimes in June 2015. Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov signed the order disbanding Tornado Company July 18, 2015. The unit has been finally undone, while its commander Ruslan Onyshchenko and several soldiers are being tried.
