Footage of broil between PGO and NABU members does not reflect event history, - NABU. VIDEO

All actions of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) employees during the covert investigation and the subsequent conflict with the members of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) on Aug. 12 were lawful.

As reported by Censor.NET, NABU press service wrote on Facebook, commenting on the video of the scuffle between the representatives of the two law enforcement agencies shared on the Internet.

The footage edited to discredit NABU employees

"As for the video, its authors are likely fulfilling the order of persons interested in showing the PGO members who committed illegal acts as victims. It does not give a faithful account of the course of events. It does not show a group of 15 people blocking the NABU employees at the safe house entrance, ignoring repeated requests of the NABU detectives not to interfere with their lawful activities and stop their illegal blocking in the stairwell," the statement reads.

"The NABU commandos arrived at the scene in order to rescue NABU employees illegally blocked in the stairwell of the apartment house by the members of the PGO's Department for Investigation of Major Frauds and police officers from the Khmelnytskyi region, who had previously abducted two other NABU operatives. In this case the force was used solely to let the NABU employees exit from the premises. Even despite the fact that one of the PGO members pointed his service weapon at NABU detectives," the agency stressed.

Earlier, PGO's Major Fraud Investigations Department Head Volodymyr Hutsuliak claimed that three prosecutors were beaten by NABU commandos Aug. 12. On that day, the Prosecutor General's Office members found out that they were kept under surveillance from an observation post deployed on 7/9 Symona Petliury Str. in Kyiv.
