Putin seeks to give occupied territories back on conditions unacceptable to Ukraine, - Tuka

Putin has his own rules that are unacceptable to Ukraine. A full-scale strategic invasion of the Russian Federation is out of question.

Deputy Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Heorhii Tuka said on air of 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports.

"I would not want to go into detail regarding the reasons. As for tactical provocations, such as the seizure of some town or village, they are quite possible," he noted.

"Putin's main objective, I am absolutely convinced, is not the seizure of new territories. Russia has choked on the piece it has snatched and can do nothing about it. He seeks to give back the occupied territories, in particular, the Donbas, on his own terms that are unacceptable to us. This is the key reason for the ongoing confrontation," the official stressed.

"This is only the rhetoric that surrounds the Minsk talks about possible severance of diplomatic relations, about Russia's statements on quitting the Minsk format or not willing to any longer control the terrorists. After that, they [Russia - ed.] are back again and still ready to influence them [separatists - ed.]. It's all a kind of muscle-flexing," Tuka summed up.
